Son of Matthew Dent and Sarah, nÃ©e Allinson, who married on 3 January 1880 in Barnard Castle Register Office. They lived at Grenfell View, Middleton-in-Teesdale. Brother of George (1880), Wilfred (1881)[see separate entry on database], Sydney (1888-1892), John William (1896-1897) and Gladys (1898).
Maurice married Elsie Marion Crump on 28 April 1917, Church of St Mark, Toronto, Canada. The couple had a two children called Marjorie Eileen and Wilfred Roy Dent.
Maurice's date of death is unknown but it was after 1963.

Maurice emigrated from Liverpool on 14 September 1910 aboard the Virginian accompanied by his brother Wilfred. They arrived in Quebec on 23 September 1910.
Maurice was discharged from the Army Service Corps on 20 April 1917 to join Royal Flying Corps.
