He joined the East Yorkshire Regiment in 1914 probably at the same time as William. There is only one number difference in their military identification. Like his brother, he served in France and Flanders. Arthur was killed in France near Duisans on 3rd May 1917 aged only 19. He was buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun.
