Obituary:

Killed whilst out with a working party near the town of Ypres.

Notes:

Prior to the war George had worked for over three years as a motor engineer. He served his apprenticeship with Mr Louis Smith in Galgate.

In January 1915, it was reported that George had been attached to ordnance at Colchester. He was promoted to full corporal in December 1915.
